Sleeveface - April 8, 2008
| Do you Sleeveface? |
Definition: one or more persons obscuring or augmenting any part of their body or bodies with record sleeve(s) causing an illusion (Source: sleeveface.com) Before MP3, CD or even audio cassette, there was the LP, the giant black plastic disc on which music was distributed. The cardboard sleeve provided performers with a billboard on which to express their visual identities and was as much a part of the experience as the music. Often, the image on the sleeve became a pop culture icon. There are currently 1,283 images tagged "sleeveface" at flicker.com. |
